Guildford 'PhotoWalk' 26 August

Looks like it will be good weather for the PhotoWalk in Guildford - our 3rd walk around the town, covering a new route to the Upper High Street, then the top of North Street before returning to and crossing the High Street to Tunsgate. Then around the Castle grounds and out into Chapel Street, back to the High Street and down to the Town Bridge.

Southwark & Bankside

An enjoyable PhotoWalk in the Southwark & Bankside areas last Saturday. Hot and very sunny but plenty of things to see and photograph. It was very busy around Borough Market and in Bankside with lots of tourists walking along the Southbank.

We ended the PhotoWalk at Southwark bridge after 3 hours of looking around. Good to stop at EAT and have one of their 'Big' Teas, excellent value at £1.60 (with 2 tea bags) and one of the best teas in town!

Then went on to look into The Tanks at Tate Modern and to visit the new station at Blackfriars - a great improvement on the old dingy station and interesting in that the platforms are on the bridge and it has an entrance each side of the river.

Southwark 'PhotoWalk' 18th August

Looks like it's going to be hot on Saturday so it may be worthwhile taking up the option to photograph inside Southwark Cathedral where it may be cooler. Lots of interesting things to see and photograph around the cathedral interior, especially the monuments and memorials.

After looking around the Southwark area we will walk along Bankside finishing on Southwark Bridge. More info on the website. www.polypodphoto.co.uk
